New Norcia founded 1846 is Australia's only Monastic town belonging to a community of Benedictine Monks. The town is a blend of Spanish architecture, European art treasures and pioneer history. The Museum and Art Gallery contains one of the finest collections of movable heritage in Australia.

Tour Highlights...
The architecture is strong Spanish influence dominates the Western Australian bush setting 27 of the buildings are classified by the National Trust and the town as a whole is registered on the National Estate.
The buildings house richly decorated interiors, Old Master works of art and extravagant furniture and furnishings. New Norcia has three stages to its history; mission period, education period and today heritage and tourism.

There are guided tours of the town including a visit to the monk's old and new chapels, the Abby Church, education centre view beautiful frescoes in St. Ildephonsus and St Gertrude's Colleges.
We will drive around the town of New Norcia to acquaint you with the New Norcia lay out.
After morning tea visit the Art Gallery and Museum, which contains one of the finest collections of movable heritage in Australia. Well worth a very long browse.

11am join a guided tour of the town. A leisurely 2 hour walk, you will visit the Monks old and new Monk chapels, Abbey Church, education centre and visit St. Ildephonsus and St Gertrude’s Colleges

Lunch 1pm at the New Norcia Hotel
Visit the Art Gallery and Museum and Shop
New Norcia is known for its bread baked at the monastery. New Norcia’s Nut Cake and Dom Salvador Pan Chocolatti famous cakes are baked in the Monastery wood-fired oven and are distributed Australia wide and overseas. The Benedictine Community is known and respected for their growing and manufacture of Olive Oil. New Norcia Abbey Wines the monks are once again involved in the production of premium wine.

2.45pm we will drive around the town of New Norcia for a last look before driving back to Perth.
Arrive Perth 5pm.

This tour combines unique Australian history, Spanish architecture, old and contemporary art, visit the Art Gallery and Museum and join the Tour of the Town.
