Tour Description

Travel the adventurous trails of the early Aussie explorers. Back to the 18th century, to an era when motive power was horses, bullocks and mules. Ride a horse as only the affluent did, be a pioneer and experience the frontier lifestyle. We take you overland through our unique wilderness.

Starting at our cattle and horse farm in the heart of the rainforest region, we use our own ancient logging tracks to reach the historical Bump Track. From here we travel over the stock route and the Bump Track west, climbing the eastern escarpment of the Great Divide and arrive at the overnight Cobb and Co stagecoach landing, founded in 1877.

Enjoy a saddle bag picnic lunch along the way at your leisure. On your ride you will have the opportunity to see an abundance of wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, dingoes, birds, brumbies, wild cattle and feral pigs.

After a day's riding we arrive at camp, set up in beautiful, natural surroundings and you can relax by the billabong, enjoy a refreshing swim or a beverage watching the sun set, whilst your meal is being prepared. You will look forward to an authentic, camp cooked, wholesome meal after the day's adventure.

Sleep in comfort adjacent to the billabong (lagoon) where drovers, miners, travellers and teamsters rested along with their weary pack-horses, mules, bullocks and carriage horses before travelling onto Australia's northern gold fields. You can choose tent accommodation or experience the unique Australian bushman's bed known as a swag, sleeping under the stars.

Our local area boasts the second highest population of bird species in the world. In the morning you wake up to the bird songs of the bush and the mouth-watering smells of a traditional Aussie BBQ breakfast.

Our horses are specifically trained to suit all levels of riders - from absolute beginners to advanced. You do not need to be an experienced rider to enjoy our Overnight Outback Experience. Your hosts have a lifetime of horse experience, with the added bonus of being conservationists with in-depth knowledge of the area you will be riding in. We give you a free horse riding lesson prior to, and during your ride to enhance your comfort and experience. We are members of the Association for Horsemanship Safety and Education in Australia.
