Tour Description

Dare to try a tour to bring out the wild side in you................ Boar Busters Adventures guarantee a rip-snortin' tour like no other" As you drive through the banana & sugarcane plantations that traverse through the rainforest you can hear the kookaburras and cockatoos calling. A walaby crosses the track and hops into the srub on his way back from breakfast. A
male cassowary ambles along the edge of the rainforest nudging his chicks and encouraging them to follow him to find their breakfast.

As the vehicle stops for a photo opportunity your guide ushers you into the rainforest to point out a scrub turkey nest. You find some rainforest fruit that is on the ground which are the cassowaries main diet. Your guide stops the vehicle for a rest beside a jungle stream where your shoes come off and you can enjoy the cool clear water on your feet as you watch your guide entice a jungle perch out for a snack.

Boar Busters is a proactive feral pest management company that focuses specifically on managing feral pigs in Tropical North Queensland. Feral animals in Australia cause approximately $700 million dollars damage to the environment and the agricultural sector each year. There is an estimated 24 million feral pigs in Australia. Presently Boar Busters have been contracted by the Australian Rainforest Foundation and local farming enterprises to manage the feral pig population in Mission Beach and surrounding areas.

Boar Busters offers landholders in the region a coordinated professional approach to feral pig management. Boar Busters has structured agreements in place with landholders which allows us exclusive access to areas on private land. These areas are not normally visited by regular tourists, such as privately owned rainforest, sugar cane farms, banana farms and tropical fruit farms. You will drive in air conditioned comfort in a modern four wheel drive vehicle that has been modified for the tour.

Our trappers are highly skilled hunters that know what wildlife is present within our local area. The trappers will keep your guide informed to the location of wildlife each day. Your chances of seeing wildlife such as cassowaries, snakes and wallabies or perhaps the best trapped feral pig for the day are greater.
