Tour Description

THE TOUR - Is designed to show you all of the highlights of Cape York, both from the air and by 4WD. Your Scenic Flight to the tip of Cape York is low level, to give you ample opportunity to photograph the spectacular landscape. We will show you the parts of Cape York which are inaccessible by vehicles, such as Cape Melville, the silica sands of Cape Flattery, Bathurst Heads, Princess Charlotte Bay and the Flinders Islands Group. The 4WD section of the tour takes you to Australia's northernmost beach - Frangipani Beach- via the Lockerbie Scrub and a pocket of Northern Rainforest. We then leave the vehicle and take a short stroll up to The Tip Of Cape York - you finally made it! From the Top of Australia we drive across to the Western side of Cape York to visit several top end communities before returning to the aircraft. The return flight to Cairns is high level via Horn Island, Weipa or Coen for refuelling and afternoon tea.

FROM THE AIR - Sit back in air conditioned comfort to enjoy the ride and breathtaking views as you soar above the Rainforests, Wetlands, Silica Sands, Rivers, Escarpments and Beaches of Cape York. We will show you Lookout Point, The Jardine, Endeavour, Wenlock and Daintree Rivers, Forbes Islands, Cooktown, Cape Flattery, Cape Melville, Cape Grenville, Cape Tribulation, and the Iron Range and Lakefield National Parks just to name a few.

ABOUT CAPE YORK - Cape York covers an area of about 208,000 square kilometres and is one of the most beautiful and diverse real wilderness areas left on Earth today. Cape York consists of high rainforest clad mountains, low lying wet lands, rolling granite hills, rivers that flow east and west and that once upon a time were full of gold (and in some cases still are), huge waterfalls, white sandy beaches, towering escarpments and low lying savannah country. The flora and fauna range from the most delicate of orchids to the most robust of melaleucas which are home to thousands of birds, animals, and reptiles. The Great Barrier Reef runs parallel to the east coast of Cape York. The Great Barrier Reef is made up of thousands of reefs and hundreds of islands which stretch from the base of New Guinea to Fraser Island in the South East part of Queensland.
