Tour Description

The Mareeba Food Trail Tour is a full day, on the tropical food trail, departing Cairns, and the northern beaches, four days a week. It takes you to the "dry tropical", Savannah country, on the northern Cairns Highlands / Atherton Tablelands.

With a tropical fruit wine maker, a coffee plantation, a macadamia plantation, morning tea, barramundi lunch, sweet treats, and a hint of chocolate, there is something for you all. Tasting the local produce and having the opportunity to purchase it, are all part of your experience. Every stop will have something different for you to savour.

Your all inclusive lunch, features Barramundi, tropical fruits, salad, and tropical fruit juice, with locally produced tropical accompaniments on the side. If you can’t eat seafood an alternative can be arranged, with your driver/guide, on the day.

Conspicuous in their absence are, the rainforest, other coaches, souvenir shops, and all the other tourists. You will get off the beaten track, away from the attractions, down side roads, to private farms, and out of the way places, with exceptional produce.

Because you travel in a small air-conditioned coach and tour private farms, your day will be very personalised, and relaxed. How the local farmers produce tropical foods, and tropical fruit wines, is very interesting, and you will often hear about it, from the farmer.

Let your experienced tour guide take away the hassle of driving on unfamiliar roads, at the edge of the outback, while keeping you entertained with amazing information about the area, and you won’t be having arguments over the maps, or which way to turn.

There is also a very special wildlife experience awaiting you. Wild Mareeba rock wallabies will eat directly from your hand.
