1/2 Day Barron River +1/2 day Rainforestation Nature Park (1 day)

Travel to the award winning Rainforestation Nature Park by coach via the scenic Kuranda Range. A collection of unique experiences awaits: Ride an amphibious Army Duck through the rainforest - a unique experience on both land and water. An experienced driver/guide will explain the mysteries of the ancient ferns and trees and spot a variety of native fauna normally difficult to see. Meander through the Tropical Fruit Orchard featuring over 40 local and international exotic, tropical fruit trees. Visit the Koala and Wildlife Park and come face to face with crocodiles, hand feed barramundi or kangaroos and wallabies. View other native species, including rainforest pythons, cassowaries and dingoes. Take the opportunity to cuddle a koala and have your photograph taken (optional extra) In the rainforest amphitheatre witness the dynamic performance of the Pamagirri Aboriginal Dancers. The amphitheatre is a totally natural setting - no special effect or lighting is used - the rainforest serves as the theatre walls and the sounds of the forest and the didgeridoo create the backing music!
The Dreamtime Walk provides a comprehensive introduction to Aboriginal and Island culture and history with practical experiences including boomerang lessons and spear throwing. Return to Cairns via the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway (NOTE: May operate in reverse)

Barron River Rafting- Rapids to Grade 3
The Barron River is North Queensland's most exciting half day tour. The Barron River Gorge is located 20 minutes' drive north of Cairns and lies along a traditional pathway used by the original indigenous Djabugay people. The spectacular Barron Falls, further upstream, are considered a sacred site. The famous Kuranda Railway and Skyrail Cableway also traverse sections of the gorge.

Heart thumping ride spears through The Barron Gorge National Park and the World Heritage-listed Wet Tropics. In the calmer sections you will get to enjoy the ethereal beauty of the worlds oldest rainforest and waterfalls from a unique waterline perspective. During the day you will also discover why the Barron rapids have names such as "Rooster Tail", "Cheese Churn" and Hells Gate.
