South Coast Track Trek 9 day trek

Additional Information

Clients are required to meet our Tour Guides in Hobart the day before departure at 2.30pm for an all important gear check, breifing and client / guide introductions. Clients will be advised of the location at the booking stage of the tour.

Included in price:
Specatcular air flight into Melaleuca, transport from track end at Cockle Creek back to Hobart, all meals while on the trek, 2 qualified guides, emergency communication equipment, first aid kits, 2 person tents and cooking equipment, National Park Passes and a free T shirt.
Able to be purchased/hired:
Back packs and sleeping bags are available for hire.
What to bring:
Backpack 60 Litre +, Down sleeping bag, Fleece pullover, thermal underwear (not cotton), 1pr gloves, woolen hat or balaclava, fleece trousers, sunhat, 3 pairs of woolen socks, long cotton bushwalking shirt, pair shorts, rain jacket - goretex or similar, waterproof over trousers, 1 pair gaiters, trekking boots (ankle height, leather and worn in), head torch and pack towel, water container, personal toiletries, camera and film

Pickup/departure instructions:
The tour departs Cambridge Airport, Hobart, Tasmania at the Par Avion office. Clients will be picked up from their hotel / motel at 0830am on the morning of departure day.
Duration
Departure Dates: 18th November - 26th November 2008, 2nd December - 10th December 2008, 13th January - 21st January 2009, 17th February - 25th February 2009, 3rd March - 11th March 2009. Tours only operate in the summer months of November through to March. Flick through the calander below for availability. This tour is for 8 nights / 9 days and it is tent based accomodation.

Tour Description

This tour is a 8 night / 9 day bush walk and a medium to high level of fitness is required. The journey starts with a light aircraft flight into Melaleuca a small tin mining settlement. We journey from west to east for 85 km over mountain ranges, along remote wilderness beaches, through rainforests and across pristine rivers. Aboriginal people used this same route for thousands of years and evidence of their culture can still be seen. This is a truly remote wilderness experience which you shouldn't miss.
