Tour Description
Lamington National Park is part of the World Heritage Listed Central Eastern Rainforest Reserves. It is the largest protected area of sub tropical rainforest in Australia. The day starts with a scenic drive up to the Lamington Plateau. Enjoy morning tea overlooking the Numinbah Valley from Binna Burra. Our first walk of the day is a 1.2km Subtropical and Cool Temperate Rainforest circuit. Set stride and spot a wallaby or two. Your guide provides you with an insight into these ancient Forests.
Our second walk is the Bellbird circuit to Bell bird lookout. We view Egg Rock and learn how this area has formed. What geological process has created the dramatic landscape? With fantastic views back to the coast and all the way to Moreton Bay, stand on the edge of a 90m Cliff and view the rainforest from above. Try to Beat the record of 13 people inside the giant Black Butt Tree.
Its time to leave Lamington National Park and head for Mt Tamborine. We stop off for lunch at the launch Pad for Hang Gliders and take in the stunning views of the Great Dividing Range. We offer you a fresh Picnic Lunch. After lunch we start one of our two walks at Mt Tamborine. Witches Falls is a beautiful circuit walk featuring massive strangler figs with root systems as large as a person, and stunning palm groves. Our last walk is a short trip in to see the Beautiful Curtis Falls, an idyllic waterfall offering a beautiful swimming hole and peaceful surrounds.
