Explore the Chillagoe Caves, Granite Gorge and other highlights of Tropical North Queensland on this full-day tour from Cairns.

Your day begins with a pick up by your friendly accredited guide in a custom-built air-conditioned 4WD vehicle. After introductions and getting to know your fellow passengers for the day, we’ll ascend the McAllister Ranges looking for many different species of bush birds, including emus, wedge-tail eagles, squatter pigeons, kangaroos and frilled neck lizards along the way to your first stop at Skybury Coffee Plantation in Mareeba for morning tea.

Travel out to Chillagoe while listening to the informative commentary by your guide who will share information about the region's wildlife, history, and aboriginal culture. Explore the Chillagoe-Mungaga Caves National Park with an expert local guide, travel through historic mining towns and small outback communities, see the Chillagoe Smelter Ruins, visit Balancing Rock for an amazing photo opportunity, see and learn about aboriginal rock art and visit Granite Gorge to see the wallabies. You'll also be treated to an Aussie outback pub lunch and tropical fruit tastings for afternoon tea.

  • Pickup/departure instructions:

    - Southside accommodation: pick up 6.40am

    - Cairns City accommodation: pick up between 6.45am – 7am

    - Northern Beaches accommodation: International Coaches will pick you up approximately 6.45am and transfer you to Canopys Edge Bus Stop in Smithfield where you will be picked up by your Billy Tea guide. This is included in your ticket. You will be returned to Canopys Edge Bus Stop in Smithfield approximately 6.30pm where you will be picked up by International Coaches for your return back to the Northern Beaches.

    - Port Douglas accommodation: this is an additional cost of $87 per person (minimum of 2 people). International Coaches will pick you up between 6am - 6.15am and transfer you to the bottom of the Kuranda range where you will be picked up by your Billy Tea guide.

    Please ensure you are on time for your hotel pickup! If you are not on time, you may miss your pickup which will incur a 100% cancellation fee. Please note all times are approximate.

    Closed in footwear, hat, comfortable clothing, sunscreen, a camera, water bottle for the cave walk.

    Children aged 0-14 yrs, infants included. Infants will be in a baby seat, supplied by operator.

    Family price applies to 2 adults and 2 children up to the age of 14 years. Additional children may be added to the family at a special price in the booking form.
