“Straddie Kingfisher Tours” started over 24 years ago now because Dave and Margaret Thelander have such a passion for the Island. We wanted to show this Paradise to the World in a sustainable way. So we have been providing 4WD Eco Tours on this Island since we started. People have commented that this is the “best day we have had in OZ!” and alike comments are to many to count. Each and every customer provides us with something different and unique just like Straddie does for them. They learn about all the different cultures and the vast amount of history we have here, learn about the wildlife and the beautiful flora we have on this Island.

You will be picked up from your central accommodation in Brisbane and then driven to Cleveland for transport across to North Stradbroke Island.

After you have arrived in Dunwich you are driven to Brown Lake for freshwater swimming, photographs and morning tea of "Aussie Damper" and a cup of billy tea.

Upon leaving Brown Lake you head east towards Main Beach. Driving experience along Main Beach and stop to get sand between your toes and or take more photos and swimming if you wish.

Settling back into the 4WD vehicle you go North to Point Lookout’s North Gorge for the “Gorge Walk” where there is a likelihood of you spotting turtles, dolphins, manta rays and sharks as well as humpback whales in season (June to November each year) In this area there are 1000 resident dolphins.

Leaving the North Gorge area you go to Flinders Beach for our famous BBQ on the beach for lunch. Whilst your guide is setting up the BBQ for lunch you can swim in the blue water of the Coral Sea or you can take more photos, sunbake or just simply relax. Beach BBQ Lunch is served. (Aussie beef sausages, garden salad, rice, pineapple, beetroot and a fruit drink).

After a filling and delicious lunch you can go for a walk, more shell collecting ETC, whilst the BBQ items are packed up and put back onto the vehicle.

Leaving our BBQ site on Flinders Beach you then go to Amity Point where you hopefully will see our friendly Koalas and stop to take photos of them. Also stopping at Amity for comfort stop and sightseeing.

You then leave Amity Point and drive to Dunwich terminal at 2.25pm to catch the return water taxi back to Cleveland at 3.00pm.

Once you have arrived back in Cleveland you make your way for your return journey back to your accommodation (approx 4.15pm) with many lasting memories & photos of your Day in Paradise!

A full day of FUN, FUN, FUN with a camera full of memories!!!
