Melbourne is Australia’s sporting capital, a place where the biggest games and the biggest names create legends.

The Melbourne Cup, The AFL Grand Final, The Boxing Day Test, The Australian Open & the list goes on. In fact the list the city’s sporting fixtures is as long as the Melbourne Grand Prix circuit.

You can watch them on TV, listen on the radio or read about them in the newspaper, but you’ll never know what they're truly like until you’ve really been.

Melbourne’s sporting precinct is a world-class collection of stadiums and parks that host some of the biggest international sporting events in the world. This tour will take you inside the sporting world, visiting coaches' boxes, media centres & changing rooms. At some venues you get to go onto the hallowed ground where history is created.

The day starts with a tour of Flemington Racecourse, home of the Melbourne Cup, the race that stops the nation. You’ll have the chance to walk on the turf and soak up the atmosphere of this iconic sporting venue.

Next up, your expert guide will drive you through the Commonwealth Games Athletes Village from 2006 and Albert Park, the site of the Formula 1 Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit. You’ll also have the chance to check out the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre.

Then it's time to choose your own adventure - a tour of the world famous MCG or entry into the National Sports Museum, where a huge collection of sporting memorabilia awaits.

Then you’ll have a chance to have a delicious lunch and tour Stomping Ground Brew House

At Stomping Ground Brewery, all tours and tastings are Cicerone-led, which is a fancy way to say that your guides are some of the most passionate and knowledgeable beer drinkers around. Groups are shown through the 20-hectolitre brewery, guided through the brewing process and given the chance to taste a wide variety of beer styles. Whether you're new to craft beer or an old pro, the Stomping Ground tasting experience is not to be missed.

Starting at 8.30am at Federation Square on Russell Street, the tour finishes at approximately 4.00pm. There are numerous stairs to climb so please wear flat, comfortable shoes. Open toe shoes and sandals are not permitted within the production area during the brewery tour.
