Explore some of the finest wineries within the Northern Barossa Valley Region. Indulge in a tasting of some of the best wines in Australia and discover the history of their origins.
After pickup from your Adelaide or Glenelg accommodation, you’ll depart the city at around 9:00 am and head to the Northern Barossa Valley region for a day of indulgence in some of Australia’s finest wineries, accompanied by a friendly and passionate vigneron.
You’ll enjoy a delicious lunch, main & desert with a glass of wine, in a popular local restaurant.
Over the course of the day, you’ll visit four wineries, and – depending on availability – these may include any of the following:
Château Tanunda is Australia’s oldest and largest Château, established in 1890. Château Tanunda’s handcrafted wines are considered some of the Barossa Valley’s best and are an absolute must-taste! With a stunning surrounding landscape, the Château features a basket press winery, well-ordered vineyards and lovely gardens. As an iconic Aussie front runner in boutique wines, this Château is the perfect wine-tasting venue.
Langmeil Winery has an internationally recognised reputation as being one of Australia’s top premium wine producers. This family-run estate prides itself on producing only the highest quality wines, meaning you’re in for a real treat when you wrap your taste buds around the Langmeil varietals. The winery itself is gorgeous, with beautiful grounds and a history that will fascinate you.
Peter Lehmann was a veritable king of wine in Australia – a title well-earned after carving his career out over 70 years in the industry. Having built his winery from scratch, the buildings and surrounds now stand as a monument to this great man and his legacy lives on in the beautiful wines the vineyard ow produces. The construction of the famed marble ‘Weighbridge’ is just one of the historical stories you’ll hear about when visiting. The Peter Lehmann Winery is definitely not to be missed.
Yalumba is another iconic Aussie wine brand, with its Barossa winery’s origins dating back over 166 years. The Yalumba Winery is a gorgeous place to visit, with features such as the Yalumba Wineroom, the Cooperage, the Clocktower and the expansive landscaped grounds creating beautiful points of interest throughout the estate. Their huge variety of wine styles is testament to their success and a must-taste, with Shiraz, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Viognier their signature standouts.
Although established in 1971, Rockfords Winery is built around an old stone 1850s settler’s cottage, which adds to the old school ambience of this gorgeous estate. With a number of vintage points of interest on the grounds, as well as a smashing selection of delicious wines, Rockfords is well worth the visit.
Iconic Seppeltsfield Winery, has a rich history dating back to 1851, famous for their fortified and tawny ports, also has a beautiful selection of cellar door only wines. Explore the converted stables / Coach house which is now home to artisan studios at the 'Jam Factory'
Other favourites are Turkey Flat, Torbreck Wines, Tscharke's Place, Greenock Creek Vineyard and Artisans of Barossa Cellar Door.
