Take in the attractions and wonders of the historic Great Ocean Road, Torquay, Lorne, Apollo Bay and Anglesea, all in one relaxed, fun day. Experience the magic of seeing the famous 12 Apostles by helicopter, take pictures at the Great Ocean Road Memorial Arch, see the collapsed London Arch, visit paradisiacal beaches and spot some unique Australian wildlife along the way, in a day to remember forever!
After your inner-city accommodation pick-up from Melbourne, you'll board your comfortable tour bus and head off in the early morning sun to one of the pristine surf beaches along the Great Ocean Road. While enjoying the beach, you'll be treated to a pleasant morning tea, which you can eat while watching the surfers catch some waves. Feeling the sun kiss your upturned face and the sand between your toes certainly makes for a great start to your day!
After the beach, you'll be able to get your photo taken while standing alongside the historic Great Ocean Road Memorial Arch, which was erected in honour of the WWI soldiers who built this great stretch of highway. You'll then pass through the quaint seaside towns of Lorne and Anglesea, where you will be able to observe the stunning views from the lookouts.
At Kennett River, you'll go koala spotting, as well as hang out with some colourful native parrots, delightfully loud lorikeets and happy kookaburras. A delicious lunch will be served at Apollo Bay's Iluka Restaurant, before you arrive at the Otway Rainforest for a guided walk through its cool, heavenly undergrowth. The Otway Rainforest is home to some of Australia's tallest Eucalypt trees, as well as a plethora of other flora species and native Australian wildlife.
You'll then drive through the beautiful Port Campbell National Park to the 12 Apostles, where you'll be able to admire these majestic natural monuments from a helicopter! You'll then visit Loch Ard Gorge for a walk along the beach, to admire the limestone cliffs and to see the famous Archway, The Razorback and Dumpling Pots. Your guide will leave you spellbound by the historical tales of the tragic Loch Ard and Shipwreck Coast. Then, you'll see the collapsed London Arch formation, which is simply amazing!
After such a fulfilling day, you'll enjoy the relaxing bus trip back to Melbourne and your accommodation.
