Tour Description
Come with us on a walk through Melbourne’s CBD to the restaurants that showcase Indian cuisine. We will begin our culinary journey by telling you our story on the arrival of Australia’s Indian community and how their aromatic spices were stirred into modern Australia’s cuisine.
We will introduce you to the lightly spiced, rice based dishes and delicate flavours of Southern India as well as the robust curries of Northern India, most noteably Punjabi food, spiced with garam masala. You will also visit an authentic Indian grocery store, where you will have the opportunity to learn about the variety of Indian spices and exotic ingredients. Concluding the culinary journey will be an offering of Indian desserts, like you’ve never experienced before.
Inclusions:
• Sampling Indian cuisine at an Indian café
• Visit to an Indian grocery market
• Luncheon at an Indian restaurant including a glass of wine (or beer)
• A surprise giveaway
