Ecotourism has never been more popular than it is today, and it’s tours like this that make it so appealing. Relax or seek fun and adventure on Australia’s largest sand island.
• Spend three incredible days exploring the awe-inspiring beauty of Fraser Island
• See the rainforests, beaches and lakes of this island paradise
• Relax or party at the luxurious Eurong Resort, indulging in gourmet restaurant dining and drinking at the Beach Bar
• Engage with the colourful and charming Australian wildlife that is abundant on Fraser Island
• Experience all that Fraser Island has to offer, including the Red Canyon, the 72 colours of sand on the world-famous Rainbow Beach, and the stories that make Fraser Island so intriguing
On day one, you get a super early start and leave Gold Coast at 6.00 am or Brisbane at 7.10 am. Your first stop is the Cooloola National Park. Have your camera ready, as you will get a free park tour where you will see wild kangaroos that live with a view on the Noosa North Shore. You will also see the deep colours of Red Canyon, four wheel drive the length of Teewah Beach, see the 72 colours of sand on the world-famous Rainbow Beach, and view the coastal headland of Double Island Point – one of Queensland’s best kept secrets.
This tour provides a shortcut to Fraser Island. Once arriving at Fraser Island, you will drive along 75 Mile Beach. This rugged stretch of golden sand along the east coast of Fraser Island has a large shark population, so you won’t be swimming there. Keep your eyes peeled for the Maheno shipwreck and the Champagne Pools, a crystalline swimming spot.
You will get to walk along the spectacular Hammerstone Sandblow, a massive sand dune that you can trek over to reach Lake Wabby. If you climb the dune, you will see how it plunges into the lake, which is fringed all the way around by the deep green of forest. Take a dip in the refreshing waters before heading to the Eurong Resort, where you can relax before indulging in a buffet dinner. After dinner, you can either take a relaxing beach walk to see the rolling waters and golden sands of your island paradise, or you can party at the Beach Bar.
When you rise, day two will take you back to 75 Mile Beach and then to the Yidney Dripping Rocks and Eli Creek, where you will stop to enjoy the lunch provided. Your destinations for the next two days will include the Coloured Sands, Indian Head, Rainbow Gorge, the Invisible Creek, Lake Birrabeen, and Fraser Island Rainforest, where the ancient rainforest provides a damp shelter of tall trees and vines. You will see dingoes as well as a host of marine life, including turtles, dolphins, sharks and perhaps even whales.
This three day tour is action packed and offers enough time to truly explore the natural paradise of Fraser Island.
