RAINFORESTATION is a 100 acre (40 hectare) tourist attraction set in the midst of World Heritage Rainforest, and situated half an hour by coach from Cairns and five minutes from Kuranda Village. Rainforestation has been operating since 1976 and is owned and operated locally by the Woodward family.

The 3 attractions are:

1. ARMY DUCK TROPICAL RAINFOREST TOUR AND TROPICAL FRUIT ORCHARD TOUR - Ride through the magnificent rainforest on an amphibious Army Duck while an experienced rainforest guide/driver explains the vast array of local plant life and wildlife. Our eleven Army Ducks are 6-wheel drive, travel on land and water, and seat 30 passengers. Let our guide take you through our Tropical Fruit Orchard which has over 45 different tropical fruit trees. Tour Time - approximately 1 hour

Learn about Aboriginal culture with this interactive experience. Watch a traditional dance performance depicting animals food gathering, and hunting. On the guided Dreamtime Walk youll try your hand at boomerang throwing, and observe spear-throwing and didgeridoo playing. Commentary sheets available in 14 languages.

RAINFOREST AMPHITHEATRE - This natural setting provides a beautiful backdrop for the traditional Pamagirri Dance Performance. The rainforest serves as the theatre walls whilst sounds of wildlife provide accompaniment to the haunting sounds of the didgeridoo and clapsticks. The amphitheatre is wheelchair accessible, and has a large protective canopy and tiers of comfortable wooden seats with the capacity for 400 people.
DREAMTIME WALK - This half- hour guided tour along an all weather walk-way modelled on the Rainbow Serpent, the mythical creator of the land, gives insight into aboriginal traditions and beliefs, and how several ancient implements were used.
BOOMERANG THROWING - After a demonstration and a few lessons from your Guide, youll be ready to test your skills with this ancient Aboriginal implement. The area is specially netted for your safety, as boomerangs do come back!
DIDGERIDOO PLAYING -Your Guide will explain how the didgeridoo is made and used in ceremonies, then will demonstrate techniques used to play this ancient instrument - listen carefully for sounds imitating Kangaroos or the Kookaburra.
SPEAR THROWING - Youll be amazed at the distance your Guide can throw spears using a Woomera. One of our Guides, Jauwa, is listed in the Guinness Book of Records with a distance of 147.75 metres – thats one and a half football fields!
Tour time - 1 hour.

3.
