Experience an amazing six hours cruising the Whitsundays Islands and exploring the famous Whitehaven Beach. See the Hill Inlet and enjoy swimming, snorkelling and a delightful picnic lunch on this 7 km long paradise strip.
The Whitsunday Islands National Park contains 74 gorgeous islands and the largest of these is Whitsunday Island. This island’s greatest feature – Whitehaven Beach – is seven whole kilometres of pristine white sands fringed by clear, reef-filled water and is in fact, the most photographed beach in Australia! Experience the beach from its northern end to its southern end, on the day cruise that gives you more time to explore than any other.
• Soak up the views as you cruise towards the gorgeous Whitsunday Island for a day on Whitehaven Beach.
• Discover the Indigenous history, flora and fauna of the Island on a guided walking tour to Hill Inlet
• Enjoy the freedom of choice on the southern end of the beach, as you relax, walk along the sand or jump in for a swim.
With departures from either Port of Airlie, Daydream Island Resort and Spa, or Hamilton Island, you’ll hop aboard your comfortable air-conditioned cruise vessel at around 7 am for your day of fun on Australia’s loveliest beach. After a scenic cruise to Whitsunday Island, you’ll dock at the southern end, where you will be notified of the times and locations of the activities you’ll be able to experience throughout the day, such as the snorkelling trip and the visit to Hill Inlet.
On the Whitehaven-based vessel, you can embark on a relaxing cruise that will take you all the way to the northern Hill Inlet area, passing by the entire length of Whitehaven Beach along the way. From your docking point, you will be guided along the traditional path of the Indigenous Ngaro people, learning of their history along the way. You’ll arrive at the awe-inspiring lookout, where you can soak up the atmosphere and take pictures of this perfect paradise. Along the way, you’ll encounter informative displays, educating you on the history, flora and fauna of the Island. All levels of fitness are catered to on this walk.
Depending upon sea conditions, you may get the chance to cross to Esk Island – a nearby isolated haven where you will be able to enjoy the beauty and perhaps even snorkel on the small Esk reef.
Returning to the southern end of Whitehaven, you have the choice to do almost anything you want. Whether you feel like relaxing on the beach, taking another walk or go for a dip in the inviting water – the choice is yours. You can enjoy your convenient picnic lunch pack – which includes a wrap, some fruit, a cookie, yoghurt and a drink – wherever and whenever you choose. Cruise staff are always on hand with cool drinks for purchase, beach games and large beach umbrellas on the southern shore of the beach. There are also bathroom facilities nearby.
On your return journey, you’ll enjoy afternoon tea while admiring the views, before being returned to your original pickup location.
