Discover the importance of traditional bush food with your Aboriginal host. You will walk you through country and learn how the local people lived in such a hot desert climate surviving on a variety of bush plants and animals. Taste a selection of the bush foods, grind native seeds and have the opportunity to talk with your Aboriginal host about desert life. Your guide will meet you at the entrance to your accommodation at Ayers Rock Resort. Departing the resort the tour will travel into the landscape to meet your Aboriginal host who will show you the various types of bush foods favoured by the Anangu (Local Aboriginal people) of central Australia. You will sample different bush foods and find out about their seasonal importance to the diet of Aboriginal people as well as learning how they hunted for kangaroo, honey ants and witchetty grubs. Wander through country and learn how the local people lived in such a hote climate and survived on a variety of bush seeds and animals. Grind native seeds, try your hand at throwing a spear and taste a selection of these bush seeds traditional and contemporary. Meet the reptiles and learn about these amazing creatures that roam our desert landscape. Your guide will then return you to your accommodation at Ayers Rock Resort.

    Child rates apply to children 5-15 years inclusive. Children under 5 are considered infants. Car Seats for infants as required by law will be supplied for $60 payable direct to operator.

    National park entry tickets are required for entry into Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park - $25 per person for guests 16 years and over (children pay half price)and are valid for three consecutive days. National park entry is a government charge payable directory to the National park and not included in touring price. Tour will stop at park entry station for purchase of tickets.
