Active Tropics Explorer Day Tour -
Your action packed Cape Tribulation full day tour with Active Tropics Explorer begins with the beautiful scenic drive along the coastline north of Cairns, past Port Douglas and through the small township of Mossman heading within the Daintree National Park. Our experienced guides will inform you of the amazing diversity you will see when entering this 130 million-year-old rainforest. Our first stop is the Daintree Village, before boarding the wildlife cruise – great opportunity to spot crocodiles in the wild, also keeping an eye out for the abundant bird life on this river system.
Heading North on the other side of the river where the road narrows as we pass through some of the world’s oldest living rainforest. Our highly trained guides will give expert rainforest interpretation during a 45 minute guided walk at the Marrdja boardwalk. Be amazed at the huge diversity you will encounter, everything from low lying ferns and shrubs, to the massive rainforest canopy and even mangrove ecosystems all in one short easy walk.
A short drive further north and we arrive at Cape Tribulation for a sumptuous lunch followed by a relaxing walk along the beach.
On our return trip we have an (optional stop) at the Daintree Ice Cream Company then for a great photo opportunity at the Alexandra Range Lookout before heading back across the Daintree River via the cable ferry. Then it is off to the Daintree Wildlife Sanctuary – a place where the local wildlife is rehabilitated. This is a great opportunity to get up close and personal with our native rainforest wildlife. See kangaroos, snakes, crocodiles and birds, including the Cassowary, Then visiting Mossman Gorge – Giving enough time to go for a quick swim, and a wander through the rainforest, before a scenic drive through the majestic beachside village of Port Douglas. If time permits we will stop at the Rex Lookout (optional stop)
