This absolutely amazing tour departs Hobart’s Brooke Street Pier or your city accommodation (on request) at 9:15 am and takes you to the summit of Mt Wellington, or ‘The Mountain’, as it is affectionately known by the locals. Travelling in a modern, comfortable coach with your very friendly and experienced driver, sit back, relax and soak up the spectacular scenery en route through the vivid, rich reds and browns, brilliant blues and greys, lush emerald greens and sharp whites of this pristine, picture perfect landscape.

On reaching the pinnacle, you’ll be in the beautiful Wellington Park. This very special beauty spot stretches over 20 kilometres and encompasses 18,250 hectares of exquisite flora, fauna and natural wonders that will leave you speechless. This remarkable reserve connects the magnificent mountains to the flowing waterways and the cosmopolitan city to the panoramic bushland – it’s certainly a breathtaking sight to behold.

It’s then off to MONA, the Museum of Old and New Art. This museum and its amazing surrounds is the largest privately funded museum in Australia and offers you a unique and extremely enjoyable way to indulge your artistic side. With many fascinating individual art pieces and eye-boggling artefacts from many time periods on show, you’ll be awe inspired by the displays, all set out in the most distinctive and interesting platform imaginable.
On entry, ask one of the friendly staff about the ‘O’ – you can record your experience and make your way around this inspiring museum using this nifty piece of technology. Walking down a winding flight of stairs all the way to the bottom, you then leisurely make your way up the staircase to be consumed and enchanted by the use of light, space and material. The skill of the architect in blending these pieces seamlessly together, gives the illusion of one single piece of artwork, but still allows us to see the beauty and individuality of each item in this amazing experience.

Why not enjoy a well-earned aromatic coffee, specialist boutique beer from Moobrew or a refreshing Moorilla wine, while deciding what to have for lunch (or a very special morning or afternoon tea) in the café? Enjoy this while relaxing in the specially designed sun-basking area. The only way this day could get any better is a relaxing cruise down the Derwent River, arriving back to Brooke Pier, Hobart at 4:30 pm.
