This delightful four-hour afternoon adventure tour showcases some of Brisbane's most spectacular views and includes a visit to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, home to more than 130 koalas who you are invited to cuddle for free at any time. Rated one of the top 10 zoos in the world (AOL), the sanctuary houses some of Australia's most unique creatures in delightful all natural settings.
• Cuddle a koala, watch sheep dog shows, enjoy bird feeding and hear informative talks about some of Australia's most unique and interesting animals.
• Wander the sanctuary at your leisure to enjoy flocks of colourful birds and animals in natural settings.
• Feed the free roaming kangaroos and lorikeets.
After being collected from your Brisbane hotel by the tour bus (at around 12.45pm), you will pass Suncorp Stadium – known as the spiritual home of football in Queensland – and the world famous XXXX Brewery, a Queensland icon in existence for 135 years.
Within minutes of arriving at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, you will be through the gates in plenty of time to enjoy a koala cuddle and free shows, which feature the Koala Presentation, sheep dog shows and bird feeding, as well as educational talks. Spread over 4.6 hectares (11 acres), this delightful sanctuary is both the world's largest and oldest, founded in 1927.
For a small cost, you can have your photo taken enjoying a lovely cuddle with a koala, or hand feeding the sanctuary's friendly kangaroos. Native Australian animal exhibits that include wombats, emus, Tasmanian Devils, echidnas and the extraordinary platypus, offer a fascinating and educational look into some of Australia's most unique creatures. There’s simply no better place to experience the wonder of getting right up close to a huge number of Australia’s native wildlife.
On your return journey to Brisbane, you will witness the spectacular views that encompass Brisbane city, Moreton and Stradbroke Islands from Mt Coot-tha Lookout. Arrival at your hotel or the Brisbane Transit Centre on Roma Street, from which you may also depart, is scheduled for approximately 5pm.
