Day 1 (L)
We’ll pick you up at 7.30am from your Darwin accommodation for your 3 day 4WD tour to Kakadu.
Travelling along the Stuart and Arnhem highways, we enter the wetlands region and make our way to Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve. Beautiful Fogg Dam is home to a large variety of animals and birds, which makes it internationally significant.
We now drive to World Heritage listed Kakadu National park, which is Australia’s largest national park and home to some of the world’s finest rock art, around one third of Australia’s bird species and a variety of animals that live in the diverse range of habitats, including floodplains and savannah woodlands.
Our first stop in Kakadu is Ubirr, in the very north of the park. As well as the fantastic galleries of aboriginal rock art, which your guide will interpret, it also offers a spectacular view over the Nadab floodplain and the Arnhemland escarpment, from the lookout at the end of the walk.
After a look around the Bowali visitors centre, we make our way to our accommodation for the next 2 nights. Dinner can be purchased at one of the nearby restaurants.
Overnight accommodation – Anbinik Resort, fan- cooled Bush Bungalows with louvres, fridge, tea / coffee and private external en-suite- a few steps from your bungalow.

Day 2 (B,L)
We spend this morning in the Nourlangie Area and firstly at Nourlangie Rock, an Aboriginal shelter home to a variety of rock which you’ll explore on an interpretive walk with your guide. Then onto Nawalandja lookout, where a short walk leads to a magnificent view over the Nourlangie Rock and Anbangbang Billabong.
After lunch we make our way to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge and falls). The dirt road in is littered with hundreds of termite mounds and after a pleasant walk through a paperbark forest, we reach Maguk waterfall. Here we can have a swim in the plungepool- the perfect way to cool off !
Our final activity today is a 2 hour sunset cruise on Yellow Waters billabong, which is home to a huge variety of birds and the impressive estuarine crocodile.
Overnight accommodation – Anbinik Resort, fan- cooled Bush Bungalows or upgrade choice
Day 3 (B,L)
We start today with an insight into the Aboriginal culture of Kakadu at the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre.
Our final destination in the park is in the very south of Kakadu and we drive to Gunlom (Waterfall Creek), on an unsealed dirt road. Gunlom has a huge plunge pool which is great for a swim or you can walk to the top of the falls for a swim in the rockpools and a fantastic view over the surrounding country.
We’ll leave Kakadu via the southern entry and travel back to Darwin, with a break en-route. We’ll arrive back into Darwin at approximately 6pm and you will be dropped off at your accommodation.
