The day starts with a trip to Mt Wellington for the views over Hobart & then continue on to the Salmon Ponds, the oldest trout hatchery in the Southern Hemisphere. Our next stop is Mt Fields National Park. You stroll underneath some of the tallest trees in the world before arriving at the spectacular Russell Falls. A visit to a vineyard is perfect timing after visiting the park. The owners will get you to try some of their amazing organic produce. The day ends with a trip to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary where you get to feed the animals & see the famous Tassie Devil!

This day trip is a nature lover’s dream. We start the day with a picturesque journey through the Derwent Valley to Mt. Field National Park, where Russell Falls is the star attraction. It’s a short stroll underneath enormous fern forests and some of the world’s tallest trees. After the calming effects of the tranquil walks we follow the fresh water to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary to visit Tasmanian Devils, wombats, koalas and more. We hand feed kangaroos before heading to the picturesque town of Richmond to feed ourselves. Tasmanian Scallop pies are just one of the wonders found in Richmond. After photographing the oldest bridge in Australia we make our make back to Hobart to summit Mt. Wellington for breathtaking views and panoramic pictures.
***Mt. Wellington summit time will depend on the weather (cloud cover). Either first thing in the morning or last thing in the afternoon.
