This tour combines scenery and wine tasting, a great combination. You visit the World's Largest Rocking Horse, have fun at the amazing Whispering Wall before driving to the beautiful Barossa Valley. You will visit the famous Jacobs Creek Winery, the areas largest exporter, stop at the historic Seppeltsfield Winery, one of Australia's oldest wineries plus Kies Winery and the wonderful Barossa Chateau which has a superb rose garden. This certainly is a delightful tour.
After a 7:30 am pickup from the Adelaide CBD or 7:15 am from Glenelg, you’ll set off through the suburbs and the Adelaide Hills towards your first stop at Gumeracha. Here, you’ll visit the World’s Largest Rocking Horse, which is located at Australia’s only remaining wooden toy factory, where you can have a browse at the wooden creations, enjoy a coffee at the nearby café or hand-feed the tame goats, alpacas and kangaroos that live there.
Your next stop will be Williamstown, where you’ll see the amazing Whispering Wall* – a nine-story tall man-made dam, whose semi-circular surface reflects sound in a way that means somebody whispering from one end can be heard from the other end – 140 metres away!
Afterwards, you’ll enter the famous Barossa Valley region, stopping first at Jacob’s Creek – the region’s largest exporter. Here, you’ll be conducted through the winery by a friendly and informative guide, who will treat you to a taste of some of the award-winning varietals – such as Shiraz, merlot and rosé – and regale you with the history of this internationally renowned brand.
At Kies Family Wines – your next stop – you’ll learn a little about this quaint, family-owned boutique winery, whose exclusive wines are not available anywhere else. Enjoy a delicious drop of a delightful Kies wine and talk to the friendly and attentive staff.
For lunch we head to Saltrams for gourmet pizza, tastings and a cellar door tour.
After Lunch our next stop is the world famous Wolf Blass Winery established in 1966. There are more tastings here before we head into our last winery Lambert Estate, a family owned business that made their name with their Chocolate Port.
