This is a great tour for the whole family. You get to see the famous Phillip Island Penguin Parade in the afternoon/evening tour, leaving your morning free for other things.
This excellent nine-hour afternoon tour takes you to a wildlife park (omitted from 1 April 2020), The Nobbies boardwalk and finally, to the amazing Penguin Parade to view the Little Penguins in their natural environment. A fun-filled day that’s perfect for the whole family!
Come aboard your comfortable small group tour bus for this truly amazing wildlife experience. Travelling along a scenic coastal route, you’ll enjoy entertaining commentary from your friendly and professional tour guide.
Your first stop of the day will be to a wildlife conservation park and sanctuary. Here, you’ll encounter a huge range of Australian animals, including kangaroos, wallabies, dingoes, quolls, bettong, gliders, birds and reptiles, among other unique species. Feed a kangaroo or wallaby and have your picture taken while you hug a koala (additional costs may apply) at this excellent wildlife park, The Moonlit Sanctuary. (Note that Moonlit Sancutary is not included from 1 April 2020)
Afterwards, you’ll arrive at Phillip Island and visit Point Grant, the home of The Nobbies, where you will be in awe of the stunning ocean and rugged coastal views as you stroll along the boardwalk. From here, you might see seals basking on the rocks and laugh as they entertain you with their antics.
Next up, you’ll head towards the Penguin Parade section of the island, first stopping in at the Penguin Education Centre to learn about the island’s Little Penguin (Fairy Penguin) colony. At the gift shop, you can pick up a memorable penguin themed souvenir to take home, before heading over to the Penguin Parade viewing area and settling in for the show of the day, as hundreds of gorgeous Little Penguins ascend from the ocean’s shore. You’ll witness their fascinating behavior as they interact with their surroundings and each other. Coming ashore to roost for the night in their nests formed out of the sand dunes, these cute little water birds will completely amaze you and captivate you with their adorableness.
After the show, you’ll hop back on the tour bus and set off on your journey back to Melbourne, being returned to your accommodation at either 9 pm (winter months) or midnight (summer months).
