Alice Springs is the central hub of Outback Australia, discover the towns history and the vital role it plays in outback life.
Tour the sights of 'The Alice' including The School of the Air. We learn how children who cannot access schools are educated by radio and may have the opportunity to listen to and observe actual lessons in progress on air.
Stop at the historic Telegraph Station, which marks the original site of the first European settlement in Alice Springs.
Visit the Royal Flying Doctors Service, where you will see how medical aid reaches those who live in the remote 'outback'.
We also make a stop at the Alice Springs Reptile Centre, where you can see up close and maybe touch some of the lizards and snakes that frequent Central Australia's semi-arid desert, such as the Perentie Lizard and the Thorny Devil.
The tour concludes with a panoramic view of the township of Alice Springs and the MacDonnell Ranges from the top of Anzac Hill.

Children between the ages of 2-15 years will be applicable for child rates. Children under 2 years are considered infants and travel free of charge when seated on a parent or guardians lap.
Children under 7 years cannot be seated in the first 2 rows of the tour vehicle. Child seats are unable to be used.

Rise early for your transfer to the world class Desert Park where you will witness free-flying birds at the Nature Theatre presentation and see rare and endangered animals. Time at the Alice Springs Desert Park is unguided; you will explore the park in your own time at leisure. The return transfer to your hotel will leave the Desert Park at 12pm midday. You will then be picked up from your hotel for A Town Like Alice Tour.
