Just outside Melbourne, the Yarra Valley is as famous for its food as it is for its scenery. Vineyards and wineries are scattered throughout the Warramate Ranges, and this tour takes in the very best that the region has to offer. This very enjoyable day out really does show you the best of the Yarra region.

A visit to the Coldstream Hills Winery takes you on a journey north-east, through the bush towns of Templestowe, Warrandyte and Wonga Park. Their award-winning, beautifully-crafted Chardonnay and pinot noir wines are regular winners at wine shows, and you’d expect nothing less from the owner, James Halliday, a leading Australian wine expert and author.

The second stop on the excursion is the family owned Medhurst Vineyard. Its 35-acre vineyard was established in 1999, and produces an exclusive selection of table wines. Don’t forget your camera, because Medhurst has a great position amid the foothills of the Warramate Ranges.

As its name would suggest, the Domaine Chandon is inspired by all things French. Enjoy a tour of the riddling hall before treating yourself to a glass of Domaine Chandon sparkling wine.

Nearby is the Yering Station Wine Bar Restaurant where lunch will be enjoyed. The views are as amazing as the food on offer, and you’ll be spoilt for choice when you see the options available to you on the menu. Round off your Yering Station visit with a look around the 1859 winery, decorated with the work of local artists. Of course, no visit would be complete without a visit to Yering’s own produce store, selling their own wines and local produce.

Finish your day with a visit to De Bortoli, the producers of Australia’s most awarded dessert wine, Noble One. Inspired by the Italian style of wine making, take your pick from sparkling, table or their own speciality dessert wines. Sampled with a selection of cheeses which will really bring our wine choice to life, this is a wonderful way to round off your Yarra Valley day.

Whether you’re a wine connoisseur, or just looking for a relaxing day out where you can learn more about the way Australia produces its very best wines, this is a tour you’ll remember, set in the cooler climate of lush countryside which is perfect for wine production. The emphasis is on high quality food, a wide selection of wines, and the most beautiful scenery Victoria can offer.

Your ticket includes your transport to and from your hotel and between venues, all tastings at the venues, and a glass of sparkling wine at Domaine Chandon. At Yering Station, you'll receive an a la carte main course meal, glass of wine, and coffee. At De Bortoli’s, we've included your cheese platter, bottled water and a tour guide. All prices are inclusive of GST. All you need to do is spot the kangaroo on the journey home through Christmas Hills!
