Day 1

Travel from Brisbane along the Steve Irwin Way, pass the Glass House Mts and continue along the beautiful Sunshine Coast. We make our way to Rainbow Beach. Depending on tides we may visit the Coloured Sands. This is our lunch stop (own expense).

We head off down the road to Inskip Point to catch the Fraser Island Ferry.  Be sure to look out for all the wonderful sea life. After reaching the island you head off and drive along the extraordinary 75 Mile Surf Beach. This is truly one of the most exciting highways on the world. It is so beautiful and the feeling of driving along this never ending beach is simply amazing! It is one of the many highlights of the trip.

Your first stop is at Central Station where lunch is served before heading off on a wonderful walk through the rainforest using the boardwalk. You walk beside Wanggoolba Creek, one of the clearest creeks you will see. There is so much to see on this short walk.

Now it is off to Lake McKenzie, it beauty of this lake will take your breath away. The blue and green waters with the dazzling white sands will having you saying OMG over and over! Arriving mid-afternoon is a good time as the other tours will start to leave and you may even have the place to yourself (no promises).

Time to head to Dilli Campsite. Great location right on the beach (well 100 metres from it) and the amenities and grounds are perfect for Fraser Island. Enjoy a BBQ dinner tonight. After dinner walk down to the beach and look at the spectacular sky, see the Milky Way like you never have before!

Day 2

For those who love sunrises be sure not to miss this one. Set the alarm and head down to the beach and watch nature put on her light show. The chances are you will be the only ones on the beach, it really is the perfect way to start another perfect day of touring on Fraser Island.

We head off down the beach on the 75 Mile Beach and have a stop at the Maheno Shipwreck. It got washed up here during a cyclone in 1935 and has called Fraser Island home ever since! Some creative photo opportunities here!

Next stop is Indian Head where you will get the best views of Fraser Island. It is a short walk to the top and the views in both directions are amazing! It will be hard to leave but the Champagne Pools await a little further down the beach.

Time to have a swim and some fun in these rock pools with the ocean right beside you. Once again it is hard to leave, be sure to have a glance back when you leave and remember the beauty of this place.

We stop at the Pinnacles Coloured Sands. The colours are oranges, browns & yellows, all in varying shades. It truly is a wonderful sight.  Nature is responsible, through wind and rain, over a very long time to give us these treats. A photographer’s delight!

After our lunch stop it is off to Eli Creek. This place is so peaceful you won’t want to leave. You can float down the creek to the ocean and just daydream! The water is crystal clear.

Back to the camp for another well deserved dinner. Tonight’s entertainment is roasting marshmallows over a fire listening to stories.

Day 3

This is your last day but there is still another special place you have to see before we head for home. We get an early start to Wabby Creek this morning trying to beat the other tours. The. Walk is around 50 minutes but boy is it worth it! A beautiful lake surrounded by sand dunes!

Next it is time to head back to Brisbane but not before one more drive along the best highway in the world! We stop at Rainbow Beach before hitting the real highway home!

We may change the itinerary around due to tides and other reasons.
