Tour ID: 10048885
Created for those who want to be thrilled and excited, this tour will take you to the world-class scenic views on the Great Ocean Road. You will see all the wonders of a prehistoric rainforest and be awed by the 12 Apostles.
Have your camera packed and comfy shoes on and be ready to go for an early start out over the West Gate Bridge. You will be picked up from the city at 7.30am. Your first stop will be Torquay, the gateway city to the Great Ocean Road. Stopping for morning tea nearby, you will be amazed at the local coastal surf towns that are the home to world-class surf brands and professionals. From Torquay, you will follow the line that the Great Ocean Road carves between the towering cliff-face and the thundering sea. There will be plenty of opportunities to snap a selfie in front of some of the most beautiful scenic views in the world before you stop to get up close and personal with cuddly koalas in the wild.
Next, you will travel to Apollo Bay, where you may enjoy lunch (own expense). Take in the local seaside town, do a spot of shopping or feel the sand between your toes at this charming small town. Once you've rested, you'll explore the Otway National Park, where the dark gully of the rainforest provides a home for a rich array of animal life. The rainforest boasts some of the oldest ferns and tallest trees in the world. Keep your eyes peeled for a magnificent variety of Australia's weird and wonderful native animals.
Once you've rested and cooled your head in the rainforest, your next stop will be the majestic, world-famous 12 Apostles. These limestone formations, along with the London Bridge, are carved by the power of the surf. Next, you will be immersed in the tragic history of the Shipwreck Coast at Loch Ard Gorge, where you can view the crystalline waters that were the site of one of Australia's most significant shipwrecks.
As well as a tour of one of Melbourne's greatest regions, you will receive a voucher to Melbourne's 'The Edge' ride, which is a glass cube that juts out three metres from the edge of a 300 metre high building. See Melbourne from the top with this, plus entry into SkyDeck88, which is 88 floors up on the Eureka Tower.
Complementary inner city pickup/drop off service, Professional Knowledgeable Driver/Guide, National Park Fees, Bottle of Water, Morning Tea & Snacks, free WIFI for the journey home.... and a sense of adventure!
