With pickups from your accommodation in Port Douglas (8:30am - 8.45am), you’ll join your small group of fellow travelers in boarding your comfortable tour bus and heading north along the Captain Cook Highway.

You’ll travel to Mossman Gorge, where you’ll first indulge in a delicious morning tea of coffee, tea or cold drink and damper with jam or honey and cream, at the Mossman Gorge Centre. You’ll then participate in a guided walk through this ancient tropical wonderland, experiencing views of the lush foliage, huge granite boulders and cascading waterfalls and sparkling depths of the Mossman River. You can enjoy a refreshing dip or quiz your highly educated naturalist guide on the specific aspects of your walk.

Lunch will be enjoyed at the amazing Daintree Tea House, situated in a truly stunning location. With a full stomach, you can relax and enjoy the afternoon with an electric boat tour of the Daintree River. While keeping your eyes open for wildlife – including mighty estuarine crocs – your guide will explain the importance of this thriving waterway. Continuing north through the Daintree’s scenic roadways, you’ll stop at Alexandra Lookout for some picture perfect views over the Daintree River delta, the Low Isles and Snapper Island.

Your next location will be the Marrdja Boardwalk, where you’ll enjoy a guided walking tour through the amazing tropical rainforest landscape, learning about your surroundings as you go. Next, you’ll arrive at Cape Tribulation, where you’ll learn about the early adventures of Captain Cook and get the chance to splash around in the surf. A walk up to the Kulki Lookout will reveal gorgeous views of this stunning area, where two World Heritage Listed areas meet and the rainforest, reef and Mounts Sorrow and Disappointment are all visible.

On your way back to the Daintree River, you’ll stop at a local tropical ice cream factory for an indulgent afternoon tea and fresh ice cream made with seasonal fruits (own expense). A cable ferry ride back across the river will allow you to spot more wildlife before heading home. You’ll be returned to your original pickup location at about 5:30 pm.
