Australia Day is one of the country’s biggest and best loved public holidays commemorating the arrival of the first fleet to arrive at Sydney Cove and the birth of modern Australia. It’s one of the biggest days of the year and our national day, which we enjoy alongside family, mates and tourists alike. It’s where we show our appreciation and love for our sunburnt country with events, festivals, drinking, barbecues and getting out on the water. Darling Harbour is where all the action is with the Darling Harbour Spectacular. Here the harbour will come alive all day and into the night with a symphony of light and music, fireworks, acts and events as well as the ferryathon and the hugely popular Australia Day race where Sydney’s trademark ferries compete for line honours.
