This full day adventure (approx. 12 hours) to Cape Leveque, takes you through Dampier Land to enjoy the opportunity of meeting several Indigenous communities, visit the Aquaculture Hatchery and the spectacular pearl shell altar at Beagle Bay.

Begin your culturally rewarding adventure by departing Broome at approximately 6:00 am (hotel pick up), journeying through magnificent 'Dampier Land’ to the Dampier Peninsula. The unique Kimberley landscape unfurls before you as you cross the principally Indigenous owned land of fiery red sands and rock carvings, up the 4WD track toward the peninsula, with guided commentary about the area's fascinating history.

Your first stop is for morning tea at the Beagle Bay Aboriginal Community. You will visit the spectacular pearl shell altar at the Beagle Bay Church. Mother of pearl, cowrie, olive and volute shells decorate the interior walls of the church, with mother of pearl the predominant shell used to adorn the main altar. Opercula – a rare stone taken from shellfish – are inlaid into the side altars. Much of the decoration are tribal symbols of the Nimanborr, Njul Njul and Bard people of the area, while others are Christian symbols representing a lamb, a fish and a shepherd's crook. Completed in 1917, it is one of the Kimberley's most historic landmarks.

From Beagle Bay, you will travel north to the remote One Arm Point Community, with spectacular views of Buccaneer Archipelago. Observe the unique tidal flows of the Kimberley and visit the Community’s aquaculture hatchery, with its collection of reef fish and trochus shells.

After a delightful picnic lunch, the afternoon is yours, at scenic Cape Leveque (Kooljaman). Snorkel, swim, or sunbathe on the pristine beaches, take a walk on the glistening sands, or just relax and enjoy the peace and calm of the spectacular coastline.

After departing Cape Leveque mid-afternoon, you will journey south for afternoon tea. Visit the bush timber church and enjoy the gardens before travelling back to Broome, arriving at your accommodation at approximately 7.00 pm.
