Tour ID: 10001005
This spectacular one-day tour encompasses the views and grandeur of the Great Ocean Road. You'll visit the Otway Rainforest, Port Philip Bay, Torquay, Lorne, Apollo Bay and Anglesea, plus meet and greet some unique Australian wildlife.
This enthralling tour departs 7 am daily from Melbourne and a courtesy pick up service is available on request from most inner city accommodation. Sitting in your modern, comfortable minibus, you'll join your fellow tourists and friendly guide as you head off to the Great Ocean Road, with your first point of call being the gateway to this region - the Memorial Arch. This historical tribute was built to commemorate the returned servicemen from WWl, who hand-built this road against all odds, in honour of their fallen brothers-in-arms
A lovely morning tea awaits you at a surf beach, where you can watch the surfers and admire the waves. Be on the lookout for the plethora of local kangaroos, as you admire this beautiful area. Fully refreshed, you'll head off to Anglesea and Lorne. Passing through these quaint little seaside resort towns is an absolute joy
Hang out with the local wildlife at Kennett River and count how many cute, cuddly and very sleepy Koalas you can find in the eucalypts. Some beautiful, friendly birds will pop along to say hello and maybe even grab a tasty tidbit that might be on offer. Listen for the kookaburra as he merrily laughs in the old gum tree.
Enjoy a sumptuous lunch whilst relaxing in Apollo Bay. Fully sated, it's back on your bus and off to Maits Rest in the Otway Ranges for a walk with your guide along the boardwalks of the temperate rainforest. The boardwalk protects the delicate ecosystem along the forest floor, whilst still allowing for a thorough look at the lush flora and inquisitive fauna within this stunningly beautiful region.
Your next stop will be the iconic Twelve Apostles, along with the Arch, London Bridge, Razorback and the Dumpling Pot. You'll be in awe at the majesty of these amazing limestone structures, hewn by Mother Nature's hand over thousands of years. With waves from the Great Southern Ocean crashing at the bases of these natural marvels, you'll have the chance to capture that perfect photo.
Heading home, you'll arrive back in Melbourne, and to your original pickup location, at approximately 9 pm.
