Tour Description
This scenic helicopter flight for up to three people will take you over the magnificent Twelve Apostles which stand alongside Victoria's Great Ocean Road. These iconic landmarks look even more incredible from the air! From our Twelve Apostles heliport you will launch into the flight of a lifetime!
Following a safety briefing from one of our experienced pilots you will board one of our new helicopters. Each person receives a window seat so you can be assured you'll get the best possible view of the stunning coastline. Immediately after take-off the Twelve Apostles come into view. From the air you will get the opportunity to see and take photos of the Twelve Apostles from an angle that is not possible from the ground lookout. After flying past the Twelve Apostles we continue on to Loch Ard Gorge to see spectacular arches, islands and unique rock formations. See where the ill-fated Loch Ard, an iron-hulled clipper ship, collided with the southern tip of Muttonbird Island while sailing from England to Melbourne in 1878. Only two people from the 54 passengers and crew survived. We then climb, turn and travel back past Loch Ard Gorge, the Twelve Apostles and onto Gibson Steps where steps have been cut out of the 70m cliff face allowing access to a popular surf and fishing beach. As we turn back to our Twelve Apostles heliport the historic Glenample Homestead comes into view. This is the place where the two survivors of the Loch Ard shipwreck were taken after the shipwreck.
After your flight you can walk along the Twelve Apostles boardwalk to view these spectacular formations from another angle!
