Tour Description
Days 1 & 2: Pick up 6.30am from your hostel then head north towards the magnificent
Flinders Ranges. Enjoy a camel ride into your first camp where you will be joined by local Aboriginal Elders around
the campfire. This is the beginning of your journey into understanding and respecting the Adnyamathanha and other
Aboriginal people of our ancient land.You spend the next day in the spectacular Flinders Ranges
allowing us time to bush walk and explore Wilpena Pound, Aboriginal art sites
and many beautiful gorges. Explore the famous Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges known
as the ”Corridors through Time“.
Day 3: Travel the famous Oodnadatta track following the historic route of
the Cameleers and the Old Ghan Railway. Visit Marree and spend time with
Aboriginal elders. Cross the dingo fence and check out Lake Eyre. Have a dip in
thermal springs, enjoy a cold beer at William Creek, a real bush pub. Population 2.
Day 4: Coober Pedy, go underground on our mine tour. Fossick for opal.
Meet the locals who live in underground houses in the middle of the outback.
Days 5 & 6: Explore some of the most remote areas on earth, including
the Painted and Simpson Deserts. Red sand hill country. Swim at night at Dalhousie
Hot Springs (Winter only). Camp in Australia’s red Centre.
Days 7 & 8: Arrive at Uluru (Ayers Rock) in time to marvel at the magnificent
sunset. Spending 2 days in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park gives us time to fully
appreciate the Aboriginal culture and spiritual meaning this area has to the
traditional owners. Join our guided walk around the base of Uluru & visit the
Cultural Centre. Bushwalk through the Valley of the Winds in the Olgas.
Days 9 & 10: Kings Canyon. Enjoy a 3 – 4 hour guided walk around the
gorges and rugged valleys descending to the Garden of Eden waterhole. Last
day hike, swim and relax in the beautiful Western MacDonnell Ranges.
