Tour Description

Located 57kms and about 45 minutes from Darwin, this world class, award-winning park is set in 400 hectares of natural bushland and home for the largest collection of Territory Wildlife. Travel out of Darwin by air conditioned mini-coach. Visitors have 4 hours to explore the many exhibits in the park including the nocturnal house, the aquarium with viewing tunnel, aviaries, bird of prey display and more. Choose to move around the park in your own time or accompany your guide for an informative overview of the habitats and wildlife of the Top End.

. Enjoy a bush walk or take the train.
. Raptors – Birds of prey display
. Aquarium – with underwater viewing tunnel
. Bird Aviaries – including 20 metre high walk through aviary
. Rain Forest Walk
. Nocturnal House – See many rare animals where night is turned into day.
. Observe wildlife at close range, in their natural habitat.

For your return journey to Darwin, board the specially designed vessel “Snubfin” for the 1 ½ hour trip back through Darwin harbour to Stokes Hill Wharf. Enjoy an exhilarating boat ride back to Darwin via the Blackmore River taking in the history, habitat and intrigue of the Top end mangrove environment. Visit a crocodile trap, try your luck with a mud crab pot, and witness the majesty of any birds and wildlife that show themselves on the day. As your journey takes you back to Stokes Hill Wharf you will visit the site of the historic leprosaria, and see the watery grave of Darwin Harbour’s oldest known shipwreck. Experienced guide, hydrophone, sonar and mangrove route survival bag compliment this extraordinary eco adventure.

Join a city sights tour for a perfect end to the day, with expert commentary by a local guide. See the Chinese Temple and the lush Botanic Gardens. Tour the historic sites of the city including the East Point Military Precinct. See the wharf area and the mooring basin. There is also time to explore the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory.
