Tour Description
Come and experience the Great Ocean Road in luxury. Join us as we enjoy one of the world’s most spectacular coastal drives in the comfort of one of our luxury vehicles along roads that weave through pristine bushland and along Victoria’s rugged coastline. We start the morning with a drive through Melbourne and over the Westgate Bridge for some amazing wiews of our beautiful city. After leaving the city we head to Geelong where we take in the water front views of Geelong, our first stop is for breakfast or Coffee in the coastal town of Torquary and visit the famous Bells Beach. As we head to the famous Twelve Apostles you will enjoy the views of The Great Ocean Road and come close to Kangaroos , Koalas and Australian native birds along the way. The two course lunch is absolutely amazing with the opportunity to experience some home grown / local organic produce plus try some Kangaroo meat and the home cooked breads are to die for. After Lunch we head to Port Campbell National park where you will have the opportunity to enjoy a breathtaking helicopter flight over the Twelve Apostles and Lochard Gorge or explore the area by the many walk ways which are fantastic also.
As scenic drives go, you would be hard-pressed to find something more impressive than the Great Ocean Road. This gorgeous stretch of highway runs for nearly 250 kilometers, connecting the towns of Torquay and Allansford. Originally constructed during the Second World War as a means of transportation for Australian soldiers, today the Great Ocean Road is much more likely to see tourists enjoying the wide vistas of ocean-swept beaches.
Driving the road yourself requires intense concentration, with sharp curves bringing speeds down to well below the posted speed limit of 100 kilometers per hour. Rather than spending all day negotiating this tough terrain, spend your holiday taking in the views in one of ACMTour’s luxury vehicles.
If you’re paying attention to the driving rather than the scenery, you could easily miss spotting the bountiful wildlife that roams along the road. With a keen eye, you can catch glimpses of kangaroos, koalas, and all types of native birds.
ACMTours offers both one and two day tours to suit your timeframe. Groups are limited to less than seven passengers to ensure attention to detail, and each outing comes complete with a scrumptious two-course lunch, often including traditional fare such as kangaroo. Many of the ingredients are locally grown and organic, establishing a real connection with the land you can cherish.
If you have the time, a two day tour is highly recommended. This expedition comes complete with sunset views of the Twelve Apostles, the famous (and stunning) collection of limestone stacks that jut majestically out of the ocean. Your two days of driving are broken up luxuriously with an overnight stay at the Guest House, a quaint inn that overlooks Great Otway National Park. In the morning, awake to a breakfast of fresh eggs, brought right to the table from the hens out back.
There’s no better way to explore the Great Ocean Road than with ACMTours. Leave the driving to professionals, and enjoy every kilometer of the pristine surroundings.
