Tour Description
This tour will take you into two of the most picturesque wine regions of South Australia providing a unique opportunity to sample a comprehensive range of local wines, taste excellent regional foods and experience some behind the scenes activities during the tour.
We stop at Blessed Cheese in McLaren Vale for morning tea (either share a platter of Cheese or indulge in a delicious muffin) with tea/coffee. A highlight of the tour is visiting Fox Creek Winery's state of the art winemaking facility (not available on public holidays). We are shown the amazing areas of the winery where their magnificent wines are created learning about the processes involved and how the wine is stored in the barrel area.
Next we visit The Olive Grove for tasting of olives, olive oil and also the Lloyd Brothers range of wines are offered for a tasting. Our lunch venue is Woodstock Winery, a picturesque setting amongst giant gum trees where we indulge in a 2 Course Lunch (Soup in Winter, Dessert in Summer) and including their renown Regional Platter followed by Tea/Coffee. Our next winery we visit is Hugo Wines, a family owned vineyard producing quality wines.
We then depart the McLaren Vale region and travel via the countryside to the Adelaide Hills, first stop at Petaluma Wines in the historic Bridgewater Mill. This is a magnificent setting for their Cellar Door with a tasting of their fine wines.
Our last stop is at Arranmore Vineyard - definately a highlight with the chance to talk with the winemaker/owner of this small family owned vineyard tasting some wines provided during this exclusive visit.
