Tour Description
Day 1: A morning walk around Cataract Gorge in Launceston before visiting Sheffield, the "town of murals". Travel to 950m above sea level to the Cradle Valley, your gateway to Tasmania's western wilderness. Your guide's local knowledge and interpretation of the landscape will assist in choosing your afternoon walk. Take a stroll around Dove Lake or perhaps a more inspiring climb to Marions Lookout or one of the many other great walks.
Overnight: Cradle Mountain.
Day 2: With the extensive range of walks available, you will appreciate some more time here before heading to the west coast and the village of Strahan. Climb the impresive Henty Sand Dunes and stroll along Ocean Beach with nothing but the wild "Roaring Forties" between you and South America. Overnight: Strahan (B)
Day 3: Traverse the island from west to east. Enter the temperate time capsule that is the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park. Visit Australia’s deepest freshwater lake, lake St Clair and a chance to spot that elusive platypus. Visit Mt Field NP, walk in the land of the giants and admire the beauty of Russell Falls. Relax on your way back to Hobart through the picturesque Derwent Valley.
Overnight: Hobart (B)
Day 4: Free day in Hobart. Spend the day in the capital city of Hobart. A great way to take a break between the west and east coasts for some retail therapy, or simply sit and enjoy a coffee at Salamanca and watch the world go by.

Day 5: Today we journey to the "end of the road" as we make our way through the Huon Valley and south to Cockle Creek at the edge of Recherche Bay. Here is the Southwest National Park and the southern most road in Australia. We can take a walk to Fishers Point and learn of the whales that frequent these parts. Enjoy the serenity that this bay provides or enjoy a quick swim before a short drive to Hastings Cave where we take a guided tour. A chance here for a swim in the thermal pool before returning to Hobart.
Overnight: Hobart
Day 6: Our Tour today is a true highlight. We travel by road to Kettering and then by ferry accross to Bruny Island and Adventure Bay. Here we board a purpose built vessel to explore the rugged coastline of Bruny Island and its spectacular sea cliffs. Here we commonly encounter the regions remarkable wildlife such as the Seabirds, Seals, Dolphins and Whales whilst migrating. Back at Adventure Bay we have some lunch and relax before heading back to Hobart. (Lunch included)

This afternoon we will visit the Tasmanian Devil Conservation Park to see and learn about the unique Tassie Devils.
