Day 1 – Arrive Alice Springs – Alice Springs Desert Park
Upon your arrival into Alice Springs you will be met by an Alice Springs Holidays representative who will introduce you to Alice Springs and your itinerary for the next 4 days, while enroute to your accommodation. Following check in you will be transferred to the Alice Springs Desert Park. Here, be introduced at your own pace to the many interesting facets of some of the world’s oldest deserts. The informative film depicts the evolution of Central Australia - an apt introduction to the many displays representing some 70% of the Australian mainland. Stroll through the 3 major desert habitats, complete with walk through aviaries. The Desert Park is home to the world’s largest nocturnal house and breeding programmes for many endangered species of the Australian bush. Be enthralled by the free flying raptor display’s aerial supremacy and on ground antics at Nature’s Theatre.

Day 2 - Gosse Bluff Mereenie Wilderness BLR
As we head due west avoiding the hustle and crowds of the main highways, our outback adventure begins with a first hand insight into Aboriginal culture and their relationship to the land at Wallace Rock hole. Further down the road we negotiate the track into the comet impact crater called Gosse Bluff. Enjoy a picnic lunch beneath the rugged battlements of this 140 million yo phenomena. We traverse outback dirt roads through the Mereenie Wilderness Area, arriving late afternoon at the foot of the George Gill Range. Optional Sounds of Firelight Dinner

Day 3 - Kings Canyon to Uluru LR
Today your guide will introduce you to the natural beauty and many activity options of the Kings Canyon area. This visually stunning part of Central Australia will intoxicate your senses. The energetic will find the hike around the canyon rim a stimulating choice offering views for hundreds of kilometres. Alternatively, experience at close hand the biodiversity and prolific wildlife of the area on the canyon floor. Enroute to Uluru we enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the Australian Outback. This afternoon, visit the Uluru Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre before discovering the base of the world's most famous monolith. Uluru's awesome size is as intimidating as it is inspiring. It's rock art, waterholes, many moods and unexpected shapes, create a palpable atmosphere as you explore with your knowledgeable guide. Enjoy a “champagne sunset” of tantalising Australian cuisine and sparkling wine as the setting sun takes centre stage over the incomparable rock called Uluru.

Day 4 - Kata Tjuta/Alice Springs R
Rise early this morning to catch the first rays of light on Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). A chance to enjoy, the peace and tranquillity of this majestic formation away from the masses as the colours and shapes transform with the changing light. Walk with your guide between the massive domes some 200 metres higher than Uluru and learn of their cultural and ecological significance. We return to the resort in time for lunch (own expense) and your transfer to the airport for your departure and onward flight to your home port or next adventure. Alternatively you may choose to extend your stay at the Ayers Rock Resort or return to Alice Springs arriving late afternoon approx 5pm. This tour returns to Alice Springs in time to join The Ghan departing at 18:00 hrs
