Tour Description
3 HOUR RIVER CRUISE. This tour provides an excellent overview of the River Murray, its history, culture and to its present time. Spend 3 Hours on board for a unique personalised cruise, the friendliness and attention provided that a small vessel provides.
We first stop at Mt Lofty Summit for an ideal photo opportunity overlooking the city of Adelaide (weather permitting) before heading to the River township of Mannum. Here we board the M.V. Jester, our boat for the next 3 hours. We enjoy a leisurely cruise down the mighty Murray. Soon after boarding we are treated to morning tea of cake, tea & coffee. During the cruise enjoy a delicious lunch of cold meat platters, home made sandwiches, vegetable slice, fruit platter and finish with locally made cakes, tea & coffee. A glass of complimentary house wine or soft drink is included. Helen and Jeff's knowledge of the river is boundless, their expert commentary covers topics such as the original riverboat trade, history, fossils, Aboriginal history, irrigation system, flora and fauna. (Note: no smoking permitted on board vessel).
After our delightful cruise we have some free time to spend in the township of Mannum. Free entry to the Mannum Dock Museum with the opportunity to view the 100 year old paddle-steamer P.S. Marion (when in dock) and learn more about the river hisory. We stop at the Mannum Lookout for a panoramic view over the river before moving on to Melba's Chocolate Factory where the chocoholics can taste samples of some delicious treats or purchase some items to take with them.
