  • Visit a well known surfing beach, watch the waves, and have some lovely morning tea
  • Enjoy the views at the historical Great Ocean Road Memorial Arch
  • Koalas, lorikeets and kookaburras can be seen when you take a pleasant walk along the Kennett River
  • Wander through ferns and tall trees on Mait's Rest Rainforest Trail in the Otway Rainforest
  • Short walk to the beautiful rock formations of London Bridge or Gibson Steps

The tour begins when you are picked up at your Melbourne accommodation in the early morning. The tour will first make a stop at a popular surfing beach for morning tea. Soak in the atmosphere and unwind with the peaceful sounds of the waves. Discover the history behind the making of the longest war memorial in the world at the Great Ocean Road Memorial Arch. There will be another gorgeous beach visited, where you can feel the wonderful soft Australian sand on your bare feet as you walk along. Then go back to the vehicle and sit back to relax, as the tour follows the roads through the pleasant resort towns of Anglesea and Lorne. You can then freely admire the spectacular views from the iconic Great Ocean Road from the comfort of the vehicle.

If you're keen to see koalas, kookaburras and other Australian wildlife, then you'll have the chance as the tour proceeds slowly on foot through the area of the Kennett River. After all that fresh seaside air, you'll be ravenous and can have a filling lunch at the Iluka Restaurant in the gorgeous Apollo Bay, the midway point of the Great Ocean Road. After lunch, the tour resumes with a guided tour through the giant rainforest trees of Mait's Rest Trail, in the rare Otway Rainforest. Many beautiful birds can be heard as you take the wooden boardwalk through this peaceful place. Then you'll travel to see the limestone stacks that have formed the 12 Apostles, with the option of going on an exciting helicopter ride over this stunning natural wonder (additional cost).

You'll feel tiny and awe-inspired as you wander with the group around the base of the immense limestone cliffs. Step on to soft sand again at the beach as you listen to the heart-wrenching historical story about the Loch Ard Shipwreck. Gaze upon the Archway, the Razorback and the Dumpling Pots. London Bridge has fallen down, but you can still see it; or you can choose to see the Gibson Steps. Both places have beautiful rock formations to capture with your camera.

The tour concludes and you'll be transported back to your Melbourne accommodation by about 9pm.
