With pickup at around 9:30 am from your Adelaide, Adelaide Airport and Port of Adelaide accommodation, as well as Clare Valley pickups later, you’ll board your comfortable tour vehicle and set off towards the gorgeous Clare Valley. Known as Australia’s ‘Riesling Capital’, the valley is the country’s smallest wine region, but amongst one of the best.
Along with your small and intimate tour group, you’ll first visit the Gungellan Hotel – which is actually called the Railway Hotel – which was part of the set for the McLeod’s Daughters television series. Relive all the memorable moments that occurred between the Macleod’s and the Ryan’s and pick up a souvenir while you’re at it.
Another location made famous by film is the spectacular Martindale Hall mansion. The mansion’s preserved Georgian architecture was used in the filming of Picnic at Hanging Rock and is a beautiful example of the era’s extravagant design. This sandstone beauty – which boasts 32 rooms and a huge cellar – is Heritage Listed and was built in 1879/1880.
You’ll also visit the a’maze’ing Mintaro Maze – which is constructed out of around 800 conifer pines – as well as the Riesling Trail, which is a walking and cycling trail that’s classed as one of the most popular in the country.
You’ll visit a number of wonderful wineries, but these will be chosen based on your groups individual tastes in wine. This means, you’ll get the most enjoyment out of your tour, with tastings from varieties that you’re guaranteed to love. You may even decide you’d like to visit a microbrewery or two, to try some of the area’s refreshing craft beers. Whatever you want, you’ll have.
After your exciting tour, you’ll be returned back to Adelaide and your accommodation, arriving at around 6:30 pm.
Snacks and drinks are provided along the journey.
Admission fees are included in all Tours unless stated otherwise.
With our personal relationships with the wineries you will enjoy FREE wine tastings (premium tastings not included).
