Travelling along gorgeous scenic routes highlighting the areas coastal vistas, you’ll first stop at a wildlife conservation park. Here, you’ll come nose to nose with some of Australia’s most loved native wildlife species – including kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, birds and reptiles – as well as some of the country’s rare and endangered species, such as sugar glider species, the Southern Bettong and Eastern Quolls. You can feed the kangaroos and cuddle a koala, taking pictures of both at this amazing park.
Next up, you’ll visit the historical Churchill Island. While here, you’ll witness a sheep shearing demonstration and have a chance to explore the meticulously restored, late 1800s era farm, cottages and homestead. You’ll stop in at the beautiful Cape Woolamai surf beach for a walk and to admire the views, before strolling along the boardwalk at the Nobbies.
Your next destination is the stunning Summerland Beach to experience the Penguin Parade. Upon arrival, you’ll browse around the Penguin Complex and Information Centre, where you can learn about the Little Penguins (Fairy Penguins) and how they live, eat and breed. The souvenir shop is full of cute little products for you to take home for loved ones.
Then, from your exclusive boardwalk location, you’ll witness the event of a lifetime as hundreds of adorable Little Penguins make their way up the beach to their sand dune burrows, where they have their nesting area. You’ll be in awe as you watch the antics of these cute little sea birds while they interact with each other and their surrounding environment.
After your experience, you’ll jump back aboard our bus and head back to Melbourne, being dropped off at around 10 pm in the winter months and midnight in the summer months.
