Tour Description
Guests can explore Melbourne’s most famous railway station - now over 100 years old. Victoria lead the way in Australia with the first railway line from Flinders St to Sandridge in 1854 which was situated in Port Philip Bay. This was only 19 years after the establishment of the city that was already the 4th largest in the British Empire.
Jenny Davies, author of the book Beyond the Façade: Flinders Street, more than just a railway station, invites tourists to join our tour for a wander around one of the busiest stations in the world.
Discover some of the thousands of stories and people connected with the social, commercial and architectural history of this grand building. After years of intensive research, Jenny has uncovered many of the little known treasures related to the station.
