Tour Description
Get away from the crowds and head outback to Mt Conner, situated on a vast, fully operational, privately owned cattle station, Curtin Springs, 85kms east of Uluru.
Your SEIT Outback Australia guide will meet you at the entrance to your accommodation at Ayers Rock Resort or pick up is available from Curtin Sprngs Station.
Departing the resort your vehicle will travel through the landscape towards Mt Conner. Your guide will reveal the mysteries of the desert environment explaining the survival techniques of the majestic desert oaks, Spinifex grass and numerous inland creatures.
On arrival at Curtin Springs Station you will find a characteristic outback homestead with a feeling of warmth welcoming to all those who enter.
Venturing onto the station, you will see remnants of an ancient inland sea and wander over a crusty salt lake left over from past millennia.
On your journey across Curtin Springs you will learn about the history of the cattle industry in central Australia, and on this station in particular how pastoralists have lived and survived the challenges of an arid environment.
After witnessing the last of the sun’s rays dip behind the magnificent Mt Conner you will delight in a three-course dinner at the homestead prepared by the station cook.
After dinner you will return to your accommodation at Ayers Rock Resort or wander back to your accomodation at Curtin Springs Station.
