With an 10 am (approx.) pickup from your Melbourne CBD or St Kilda accommodation, you’ll board your comfortable mini bus, meet your friendly, experienced guide and set off on your journey along a scenic coastal route. Your first stop of the day at a local koala and animal park will delight you as you interact with a large range of Aussie wildlife species. Have a photo taken with a Koala (extra fees), feed kangaroos and wallabies, cuddle a little wombat joey and see other interesting species in a natural and attractive setting.
After crossing over the bridge to Phillip Island, you’ll then stop at the beautiful Woolamai Beach, where you can stroll along the sand and take in the gorgeous surrounds. You’ll visit the Nobbies Marine Centre, where you can take a walk along the boardwalk to see stunning views of the ocean and Seal Rocks. Here, you’ll see the colony of playful fur seals splashing around and sunbathing. Take time-out to immerse yourself in the interactive WWF Antarctic Journey, experience this state-of-the-art fun, educational and virtual world of discovery, located beneath the Nobbies centre.
You’ll finally arrive at the world famous Penguin Parade, where you can drop into the Penguin Complex and Education Centre to learn about the Little Penguins through a series of exciting interactive displays. Buy a souvenir for the kids and learn about the penguins, their lifestyles, diets, mating habits and other characteristics. As the sun lowers, you’ll go to the penguin viewing area to see the stars of the show – the Little Penguins (Fairy Penguins). Watch in amazement as these cute little guys waddle up the beach from the sea as they make their way to their sand dune burrows for the night. These tiny little sea birds will delight you as each of their personalities is revealed by their actions and interactions with each other.
After the action, you’ll be taken back to Melbourne and dropped back at your original pickup location, arriving between 10 pm and midnight (depending upon season).
As part of this tour, you’ll receive a ticket to visit Melbourne’s famous Eureka Skydeck Tower, where you can experience all the thrills of the observation deck on level 88, 285 m (935 ft.) above the city streets. While you’re enjoying the highest viewing tower in the southern hemisphere, you can also take advantage of ‘The Edge’ – a nail biting experience that sees you walk into a glass cube that then moves 3 m (10 ft.) out from the building and gives you unfettered views of the nothingness below!
