Starting at Sydney City, you’ll travel through beautiful landscapes to the Three Sisters and Scenic World via the charming village of Leura. A sumptuous lunch at Wentworth Falls awaits, then visit Featherdale Wildlife Park to meet with unique Australian wildlife.
Departing the bustling City of Sydney, this intimate full day tour picks you up from your city accommodation and leaves the CBD at around 8:15 am, in a comfortable air-conditioned mini-coach, with a friendly, informative guide. Sit back and relax with newfound friends as you travel west to the spectacular Blue Mountains.
Our first stop is the quaint country village of Leura. One of several little villages scattered through these beautiful mountains, Leura encapsulates the spirit of the region to perfection, with its fresh, crisp mountain air, superb scenery and a picturesque tree-lined main street. It’s the perfect place for a scrumptious morning tea and a browse through beautiful art galleries, antique shops and bookstores.
With a leisurely meandering drive through the lovely mountainous landscape, you’ll head to the awe-inspiring Three Sisters. These ancient and iconic multilayered rock pinnacles stand an impressive 922 meters high! While viewing this scenic panorama, be mesmerised as sun and clouds play magical games and shadows cast a rich red and ochre hue over the rock face and forest backdrop. The Indigenous Gundungurra people have lived, dreamed and melded with nature sublimely in this region, passing down stories through the colourful voice of art for generations, with many ancient artefacts and cave drawings still being found. Remnants of their culture, heritage and spirituality can still be evidenced in and around this superb area.
Then, it’s time to visit Scenic World. This place certainly lives up to its name, with 360-degree views of this spectacular pristine landscape. Travel through mountains on the steepest railway in the world, or enjoy the Skyway and Cableway that will give you a breathtaking view high above the rainforest canopy of the Jamison Valley.
Merrily travelling through this World Heritage region, you’ll capture the magnificence of the dramatic cliffs, deep canyons and lush forests of eucalypt trees that have been millions of years in the making.
A sumptuous lunch at the Conservation Hut Café in Wentworth Falls will leave you feeling refreshed and reinvigorated. Next, you’ll have the chance to visit our unique, funny, cute and furry critters, such as friendly koalas and kangaroos. Colourful and cheeky land and water birds and the estuarine crocodile are also stars at Featherdale. You’ll return to Sydney, where you’ll be dropped off at your original pickup location at around 6:15 pm.
If you would like to miss the city traffic, why not add-on our Scenic River Cruise Return option? Relax and enjoy the scenery of the Parramatta River while cruising under the Harbour Bridge to Circular Quay. A perfect conclusion to a perfect day. (no hotel drop-off provided with this option)
