Phillip Island is a very special place. Just a short drive south of the bustling centre of Melbourne, this wildlife sanctuary is a world apart, filled with unique species you can see up close and personal.
The one-day Phillip Island tour offers a perfect balance of wildlife and nature, showcasing the amazing beauty of this unique place.
Starting in Melbourne, our expert guide will escort you on to a modern, air conditioned bus for an easy cruise to Phillip Island, home of the little penguins and some of Australia’s most beautiful natural attractions.
We’ll start the day at the Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park where you can see unique Australian species up close, including kangaroos, emus and dingos. There’s even the chance to hand feed them and have your picture taken with the resident koala, Gumba.
A relaxed and delicious lunch will be served at Moonlit Sanctuary for you to enjoy, surrounded by nature.
We'll then drive over the adjoining Churchill Island, which holds one of Australia’s oldest European settlements. You’ll see historic landmarks galore, including cottages from the 1860s, and watch a sheep-shearing demonstration.
Next, we’ll drive over to the famous Woolamai surf beach, where international competitions are held. You can kick your shoes off and get some sand between your toes if you want – or even dip them in the water!
We will then visit the Koala Conservation Centre, where you can see these herbivorous marsupials in their natural habitat. It’s great fun walking around the grounds and spotting them up in the trees. We’ll drive over to The Nobbies, an ecotourism centre that overlooks the dramatic Seal Rocks headland, home to Australia’s largest colony of fur seals. Walk the boardwalks and soak up the view – it’s breathtaking!
Around sundown, we’ll head over to the Penguin Parade Information Centre and learn all about little penguins, who flock to Phillip Island in their thousands. We’ll then head to Summertime Beach to witness the Penguin Parade, where scores of little penguins cross the sand at dusk on their way home for the night.
To make this tour really unforgettable, there’s an upgrade to VIP level, which gives you access to an elevated viewing box for the Penguin Parade. Drinks and canapés will be served as the perfect accompaniment to the experience.
