The remote Buccaneer Archipelago experiences some of the largest tides on the planet. On this 4WD tour we see the highlights of the Dampier Peninsula, visit a Pearl Farm, and take a cruise through the islands that experience these Giant Tides.

Discover the art of pearling at the remote Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, enjoy a picnic lunch and then cruise the magnificent waters of Cygnet Bay and the Buccaneer Archipelago, home to the Giant Tides!
The Dampier Peninsula is a delight for travellers seeking a real Kimberley experience that is culturally rewarding in a beautiful environment. As we journey north, travellers will learn all about the areas fascinating place in Australia’s history.
Enjoy morning tea in the Beagle Bay Aboriginal Community, home to the Sacred Heart Church and its glimmering pearl shell altar. We then travel north to the One Arm Point Community and view the impressive Buccaneer Archipelago, witnessing the huge tidal flows of the Kimberley – the largest in the southern hemisphere! The Community’s own aquaculture hatchery, complete with reef fish and trochus shell, is perched right on the tip of One Arm Point and well worth a visit.
Returning south we reach Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm. The only working pearl farm open to the public, Cygnet Bay offers an introduction to the history and cultivation of the world's finest pearls while we enjoy a picnic lunch.
Soon enough, you will board a high speed vessel for a truly remarkable experience on the Kimberley Coast. As we cruise through the Sunday Island group of the Buccaneer Archipelago the enormous power of the tide is on display in the form of whirlpools and standing waves. Your experienced skipper provides fascinating insights into this extreme tropical environment and how this not only affects the people of the Kimberley Coast but also how it powers the Australian pearling industry.
We then reboard the vehicle for our journey back to Broome, arriving at approximately 7.00pm.

Complimentary pick up from Broome hotels are available. Please add your accommodation details in the space provided on the booking form and a pick up time will be advised when reconfirming tour.
Departs: Daily except Saturdays from April to October. Departs Wednesdays and Saturdays from Novemebr to March.
Departure Time: approximatenly 6.30am
Recommendations include: a broad-brimmed hat with sun visor (broad brimmed being better for all round sun protection), personal water bottle, sunscreen and camera.
Child prices apply to children between the ages of 4 and 12 years inclusive. Kimberley Wild advises against younger children joining our tours as the days can be long, the distances travelled extended and the walks difficult for little legs.
Concession/pensioner rates apply to YHA Members and those holding valid Australian Pension, Seniors and Student Cards. Not applicable to international concession card holders.
Kimberley Wild will cater for special dietary requirements, so please advise us of this when booking.
This tour may not be suitable for pregnant women or travellers with back problems.
